Kuju and Amabilis Software today announced the intention that Rail Simulator will support the import of models produced through the 3D Canvas package. 3D Canvas is a standalone modelling software package widely used in the user community to create trains and scenery objects. The companies have agreed that Kuju will provide information to Amabilis enabling the necessary conversion and export facilities to be built into the modelling package ready for the launch of Rail Simulator. Models created can then be exported into the Rail Simulator model file format. This ability for users to bring their own models into the Rail Simulator world is one of the most popular features of the simulation.
